The 2024 Student Pastry Chef of the Year winner

Cecille won Student Pastry Chef of the Year

Cecille Youngs of West Suffolk College won the 1st place

On Tuesday, May 14th, the Final of the 4th edition of Student Pastry Chef of the Year was held at West London College. The final eight young students showcased their best in the competition, themed “grab n go.” The students were asked to present 12 identical mono portions of their chosen dessert plus 2 entremets.

First place was won by Cecille Youngs of West Suffolk College, who was crowned the 2024 Student Pastry Chef of the Year. Second place went to Penelope Garside from York College, and third place was awarded to Jazmin Williams of the NPTC Group.

She created a coconut, passion fruit, mango, white chocolate, and lime entremets, as well as a rhubarb and pistachio mono dessert. As Andros Chef is a partner of this competition, all fruit ingredients were provided for their training and creation. She used our passion high fruit compote and mango, passion, rhubarb purees.

Winner’s trip to France!

Thanks to her 1st place win, we offer an exclusive invitation to Cecille to visit Andros in France. She will have the opportunity to visit:

  • Andros experimental orchard where we conduct tests on both varieties and agricultural techniques.
  • Visit of our fruit transformation plant.
  • Andros R&D center where all recipes are developed for both ingredients and consumer goods.
  • “L’Atelier du fruit & du végétal” our demonstration area for professionals to taste our latest products and application ideas as well as different fruit varieties tasting.
  • Visit our gastronomic restaurant “Cueillette”

We are excited to welcome Cecille and her coach, Stuart Ascott, to Andros and provide them with an unforgettable experience.
